ADAM HENDERSON, DVM
Veterinarian, Owner
Adam was born and raised here in Suffolk. He attended Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, and then spent 8 years at Virginia Tech to get his undergraduate and veterinary degree. He is honored to have served as the past president of the Alumni Board of the vet school at Virginia Tech.

Adam and Kate share their house with their son Brooks and daughter Emma, a Labrador (Samuel Adams) and a Boykin Spaniel (Piper).

Adam's first job in veterinary medicine was actually with Dr. Harbour during high school. It was always his dream to own a veterinary clinic, and in December 2018 he and Kate were fortunate to have Dr. Harbour's trust to take over the clinic.
Adam's interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, dentistry, emergency medicine...and Labradors!
KATHERINE HENDERSON, DVM
Veterinarian, Owner
Kate Henderson was born in Norfolk into a Navy family but grew up in the Atlanta area. She received her Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Auburn University and her Veterinary degree from the University of Georgia. She is married to Dr. Adam Henderson. Her professional interests include internal medicine, infectious disease, and ultrasonography. She and Adam have a son (Brooks) and a daughter (Emma) as well as 2 dogs - Piper, a Boykin Spaniel, and Samuel, a Labrador Retriever.
ELIZABETH PROKOP, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Elizabeth Prokop is originally from McKinney, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University. She then attended Oklahoma State University for her veterinary degree. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her horse Casino, scuba diving and watching Aggie football.
ANNABELLE VESTERMAN, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Annabelle Vesterman is a Hampton Roads native; she grew up in Norfolk and is so excited to be back! She obtained her BS in biology from Sweet Briar College in 2016, received her veterinary medicine degree from the Royal Veterinary College in the UK in May 2021, and has recently completed a Small Animal Rotating Internship at the COVE. She has special interests in nutrition, ophthalmology, and emergency medicine.  In Dr. Vesterman’s free time, she likes to bake, read, travel, and spend time with her partner Shawn, their friends and families, and their 4 pets (Abby, a Pit Bull mix; Petri and Beaker, two tabby cats; and Tiki, a red-rumped parrot).

SIERRA
Practice Manager
Sierra is one of our friendly, caring and knowledgeable Veterinary Assistants. She comes to us from Massachusetts to Georgia and now Virginia, with over 10 years of experience. She worked her way from kennel attendant to various positions within the veterinary hospital. Sierra plans to expand her knowledge and skill set through schooling and licensure as a Veterinary Technician. What she enjoys the most about veterinary medicine is that "you are always learning and that every day is a new experience."
STEPHANIE
Operations Manager
Stephanie began her career in human health care. After almost 10 years, serving as a medical assistant and in administration, she decided to expand her versatility and join the world of veterinary medicine. Stephanie is a big asset to our practice, helping to expand the practice. She is enjoying the animal field and says being a part of a pet's medical care is surprisingly rewarding.
BRITTANY
Treatment Supervisor
Brittany comes to us most recently from the emergency side of veterinary medicine but has a total of nine years of experience, including feline only medicine and holistic medicine (i.e. acupuncture and chiropractic treatments). She has certification as veterinary assistant, recovery CPR and basic life support. Brittany also wants to enroll in veterinary technician school in the near future. Her favorite part of the job is creating relationships with clients and their pets, while educating new pet parents.
KRISTA
Lead Veterinary Technician
Krista brings over 15 years of experience in the veterinary field. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Virginia Wesleyan College, an Associates in Veterinary Technology from Blue Ridge Community College and became licensed in 2012. As veterinary medicine is ever-changing and growing, Krista enjoys opportunities for continuing education and finding ways to expand versatility and efficacy within the practice. She also very much enjoys creating a bond with patients who need a little extra TLC and working with their families to give them the best care.
